Tiered distance pricing
A 200 km transfer shouldn't cost the same per kilometre as a cross-town hop. Tiers let you charge less as the journey gets longer — automatically.
How the tiers work
On a vehicle's pricing, set three distance bands. Tier 1 covers distance up to a limit you choose, at one per-km rate; Tier 2 covers distance up to a higher limit at a second rate; and Tier 3 is the rate for everything beyond Tier 2. Each stretch of a journey is charged at the rate for the band it falls in, then added to the vehicle's initial cost.

Say the Mercedes S-Class has an initial cost of €100 with 30 km included, then Tier 1 up to 50 km at €2.00/km, Tier 2 up to 100 km at €1.50/km, and Tier 3 beyond 100 km at €1.20/km. A long airport-to-countryside run is billed cheaper on its final miles than its first — competitive on the big jobs without underpricing the short ones. The total is rounded up to the nearest €5.

Tiers are optional. Leave the tier fields empty and the vehicle simply charges a single per-km rate for all distance beyond what's included — perfectly fine for a fleet that mostly does short, similar runs. Turn tiers on only when your long-distance work justifies it.

Start with sensible bands, watch a few real jobs come through, then refine. The tiers apply automatically from each trip's calculated distance, so your quotes stay consistent whether you're pricing a 12 km hotel transfer or a 180 km cross-country run — and you never do the maths by hand.
